Wagner Ribeiro's 'Secrets to the Supernatural'

Is this teaching biblical?

Wagner Ribeiro sells courses on 'Secrets to the Supernatural' — implying hidden knowledge that gives access to spiritual power. This is modern gnosticism: the idea that special, secret knowledge (gnosis) is needed beyond the simple gospel. Simon Magus tried to BUY spiritual power and was cursed by Peter. Paul wrote that ALL treasures of wisdom are found in Christ, not in purchased seminars. The gospel is not a secret — it is proclaimed openly to all.

What did Wagner Ribeiro say?

"Segredos para o sobrenatural."

English Translation"Secrets to the supernatural."

What does Scripture actually teach?

Acts 8:18-20

"And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, 'Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.' But Peter said to him, 'Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!'"

NKJV

Simon Magus tried to buy spiritual power — and was cursed for it. Ribeiro SELLS 'secrets to the supernatural' for money. The spirit is the same: treating the gift of God as something that can be bought. Peter's rebuke applies directly: 'Your money perish with you.'

Colossians 2:2-3

"That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

NKJV

ALL treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in CHRIST — not in Ribeiro's paid seminars. The 'mystery' Paul speaks of is Christ Himself, now revealed openly to all believers. There are no additional 'secrets' to be purchased.

1 Corinthians 2:1-2

"And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified."

NKJV

Paul deliberately avoided 'secrets' and special wisdom. He preached only 'Jesus Christ and Him crucified.' The power of God is in the simple gospel, not in purchased 'secrets.' Ribeiro's approach is the opposite of Paul's apostolic method.

Matthew 10:8

"Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."

NKJV

Jesus commanded: 'Freely you have received, freely give.' The supernatural power of God is given freely and should be shared freely. Ribeiro charges money for 'secrets' that should be given without cost. This violates Christ's direct command.
