Is this teaching biblical?
Kathryn Krick's core teaching is that Spirit-filled Christians can be demon-possessed and need her deliverance ministry. This fails on multiple biblical and theological counts: (1) Temple theology — believers are temples of the Holy Spirit who does not share His dwelling with demons; (2) The 'Paul test' — Paul's 'thorn in the flesh' was 'a messenger of Satan' yet divinely permitted for sanctification; Krick would try to cast out what God allowed; (3) The Luke 13 distinction — the woman was 'bound' by Satan (external affliction) not demon-possessed (internal ownership). Her theatrical exorcisms — with extended demon interviews — contrast with Jesus who cast out demons with a single authoritative word.
What did Kathryn Krick say?
"Christians can have demons inside them. These demons need to be cast out through deliverance ministry."

What does Scripture actually teach?
1 Corinthians 6:19
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?"
— NKJV
Believers' bodies are TEMPLES of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God DWELLS in Christians. A temple cannot simultaneously house the Holy God and unclean demons. This is fundamental temple theology: the holy and the profane cannot coexist in the same sacred space. Krick's teaching that Christians are filled with demons is a direct assault on the indwelling of the Spirit.
1 John 4:4
"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
— NKJV
John declares: 'He who is IN YOU is greater than he who is in the world.' The Holy Spirit in believers is GREATER than Satan and all demons. If the greater indwells us, how can the lesser also possess us? Demons cannot share the dwelling where the Almighty resides. Believers have OVERCOME by the indwelling Spirit.
2 Corinthians 12:7-9
"And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.'"
— NKJV
The 'Paul test': Paul had a 'messenger of Satan' afflicting him — yet God PERMITTED it for his sanctification. Paul prayed three times for deliverance; God said no. Krick would attempt to 'cast out' what God sovereignly allowed. Not every affliction from Satan should be rebuked — some are permitted by God for our growth. Her ministry cannot distinguish divine permission from demonic attack.
Luke 13:10-17
"And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up... And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight... So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has BOUND—think of it—for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?"
— NKJV
Jesus says Satan 'BOUND' this woman — He does not say she was demon-possessed. The Greek 'déō' (to bind) describes external constraint, not internal possession. Satan can afflict believers externally (as with Job, as with Paul's thorn) without possessing them internally. Krick fails to distinguish between being 'bound' by Satan (external attack) and being 'possessed' (demonic ownership). This distinction is crucial and biblical.
Mark 1:25-26
"But Jesus rebuked him, saying, 'Be quiet, and come out of him!' And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him."
— NKJV
Jesus cast out demons with a SINGLE authoritative command: 'Be quiet, and come out.' He did not interview the demon, did not engage in lengthy dialogues, did not create theatrical performances. Krick's exorcisms involve extended conversations with demons and dramatic manifestations — the opposite of Christ's method. The early church fathers warned against 'interviewing demons' as it gives them a platform and attention they do not deserve.
2 Corinthians 6:14-16
"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial?... And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God."
— NKJV
Paul's rhetorical questions expect the answer 'NONE.' What fellowship has light with darkness? NONE. What accord has Christ with Belial? NONE. What agreement has the temple of God with idols? NONE. Believers ARE the temple of the living God — there is no room for demons. Krick's theology requires what Paul declares impossible: fellowship between light and darkness, accord between Christ and Belial.
