Jesus Christ — Quotes Examined

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."

Jesus does not suggest false prophets might come — He guarantees it. His warning implies three critical truths: false prophets will look like genuine believers ('sheep's clothing'), they will be destructive ('ravening wolves'), and believers have a responsibility to identify them ('beware'). Discernment is not optional — it is commanded.

"I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish."

Jesus's demand for repentance is absolute and universal. He does not say 'some should repent' or 'repentance would be nice' — He says ALL will perish without it. This stands in stark contrast to modern preaching that offers salvation without repentance, grace without change, and heaven without holiness.
