Bob Coy

Built one of the largest Calvary Chapel churches in America. After his 2014 resignation for adultery, he was later accused by a young woman of childhood sexual abuse; police closed the case at the accuser's request and he was never charged. The combination of an admitted moral failing and unresolved allegations left his pastoral integrity in serious question.

In 2015 a young woman accused Coy of having sexually abused her as a child; she later asked police to close the case, saying she had 'found forgiveness through God,' and the case was closed. Coy was never criminally charged. Separately, he admitted in 2014 to adultery and a pornography addiction, which prompted his resignation.
