Red Flag — Exercise Caution

Daniel Kolenda & CfaN Platform John Arnott — Red Flag

Is this teaching biblical?

Christ for All Nations (CfaN), founded by Reinhard Bonnke, has a legacy of powerful evangelistic crusades across Africa. Under Daniel Kolenda's leadership, CfaN continues large-scale evangelism. However, CfaN's decision to actively platform John & Carol Arnott — the founders of the Toronto Blessing movement — at their REVIVE Nights and School of Ministry raises serious questions about discernment. The January 2026 CfaN School of Ministry speaker schedule also includes Cindy Jacobs (prominent NAR prophetess) and Brian Simmons (author of the heavily criticized Passion Translation). While Kolenda's own preaching focuses on evangelism and does not appear to teach prosperity gospel, his willingness to associate with and endorse figures connected to unbiblical movements undermines CfaN's credibility. Scripture is clear: who you platform, you endorse. Who you endorse, you share in their work — whether good or evil. This is not a judgment on Kolenda's salvation, but a red flag urging believers to exercise discernment.

What did Daniel Kolenda say?

"Our last REVIVE Night with Pastors John & Carol Arnott was AWESOME. It was a powerful night of teaching, worship and renewal!"

What does Scripture actually teach?

2 John 1:10-11

"If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds."

NKJV

John's instruction is striking: to welcome and platform someone who brings false teaching is to SHARE in their evil deeds. When CfaN invites John Arnott to teach at REVIVE Nights, they are not merely hosting a guest — they are sharing in the Toronto Blessing movement's legacy of unbiblical manifestations, the 'don't analyze, just receive' mentality, and the confusion it has sown in churches worldwide. CfaN becomes a participant in spreading Arnott's influence to a new generation.

2 Corinthians 6:14

"Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?"

NKJV

While this verse is often applied to marriage, the principle is broader: believers must not yoke themselves with those promoting unbiblical practices. The Toronto Blessing produced animal sounds, uncontrollable laughter, and loss of bodily control — none of which appear in Scripture as works of the Holy Spirit. For CfaN to partner with the architects of this movement is an unequal yoking that compromises their witness.

1 Corinthians 15:33

"Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits.'"

NKJV

Paul quotes this proverb to warn: bad associations corrupt good character. CfaN may have sound evangelistic practices, but consistently associating with Toronto Blessing leaders, NAR figures like Cindy Jacobs, and controversial Bible translators like Brian Simmons will inevitably shift the ministry's direction. The fruit of these associations is already visible: CfaN's REVIVE Nights feature the same 'renewal' language and atmosphere that characterized the Toronto Blessing.
