Copeland Prosperity Network
The interconnected web of prosperity preachers centered on Kenneth Copeland
What Is It?
The Copeland Prosperity Network refers to the interconnected web of Word of Faith and prosperity gospel teachers who share platforms, conferences, and teaching with Kenneth Copeland Ministries. This network includes teachers on the Victory Channel, Believer's Voice of Victory broadcasts, Southwest Believers Convention speakers, and graduates of Kenneth Hagin's Rhema Bible Training Center. Association with this network is a significant warning sign, as these teachers consistently promote prosperity theology, the 'little gods' doctrine, and other Word of Faith heresies. They frequently endorse each other, share stages, and form a self-reinforcing echo chamber of false teaching.
Key Errors
- Mutual endorsement creates false credibility
- Shared platforms spread identical heresies
- Financial networks extract wealth from followers
- No accountability — they only answer to each other
- Rhema Bible Training Center propagates false doctrine
- Victory Channel broadcasts reach millions with heresy
Scripture Refutation
2 John 1:10-11
“If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.”
Sharing platforms with false teachers makes one complicit in their error.
Romans 16:17-18
“I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites.”
We are commanded to keep away from those teaching contrary doctrine.
2 Timothy 3:5-6
“Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women.”
These teachers have a form of godliness but exploit their followers.
Titus 1:10-11
“For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception... They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain.”
Their motivation is dishonest gain — the prosperity gospel serves their wallets.
Historical Context
The Copeland network traces its origins to Kenneth Hagin's Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, founded in 1974. Hagin's teachings — themselves derived from E.W. Kenyon's metaphysical writings — have been propagated through thousands of graduates who now lead their own ministries. Kenneth Copeland, Hagin's most prominent disciple, has built an empire including Kenneth Copeland Ministries, the Victory Channel, Eagle Mountain International Church, and Kenneth Copeland Bible College. This network now spans multiple generations (Jeremy Pearsons is third generation) and multiple continents, creating a global infrastructure for spreading prosperity theology.
